That post was the product of a presentation I give called &quot;The Secret, the Shell, &amp; the Flash in a Pan&quot;.  I was trying to distill the message even further and came up with these 3 points.

Sustainability is how you avoid becoming the &quot;Flash in a Pan.&quot;  You could be remarkable and very visible, but if your production &amp; marketing costs exceed your profits then you won&#039;t be around for long.
