If you find yourself wishing you were more creative, maybe it’s time to inject a creativity exercise into your life.
The easiest way to develop your creativity is to look at something and imagine all the possible ways you could use it. You’ll start off by listing the intended purposes, but if you allow yourself to put the object in different settings, you’ll soon come up with other uses for the object. Do this often enough with random, unconnected objects, and you’ll start doing it without thinking.
What’s nice about this particular exercise is that it also sharpens your problem-solving abilities. You’ll find yourself more capable of looking at situations and seeing possible solutions because you’re used to thinking “What if?”
Experimenting is a foundation of creativity. Go forth and bravely experiment!
