Geoffrey Hineman sent me his e-book Tapping Creativity a while back after I responded to a post on his blog about why I write. (The short answer is: I write because I honestly can’t stop myself.) It took a bit to work my way down my to-read list to reach it, but I finally got there late last week and I’m glad I did. The book is stuffed full of great ideas for beating “creativity block”. From just writing, to watching life around you, to experimenting with unusual combinations of ideas, people, settings, activities, there’s guaranteed to be something (or several things) to inspire you or help you work through any blocks.

He also maintains a blog by the same name, and I’ve had a great time reading his posts and thinking about how to incorporate his suggestions into my own work. Read the book. Read the blog. You won’t walk away from either empty-handed.
