I’ve just started working on The Escape Plan, a set of challenges intended to help free you from the accursed disease of adultitis. It looked like fun, so I thought I’d give the challenges a try.
The first one is to immerse yourself in a field you know nothing about for fifteen minutes. It really is amazing how much you can learn in fifteen minutes. It’s also amazing how hard it can be to think of a field you really don’t know much about. I finally decided to read up on audio engineering since I seem bent on producing something.
I actually learned some important things about recording, and I tried to put them into practice for today’s creative effort- reading a scene I wrote last week in response to a writing prompt. It took me three tries (the second one was good, but I didn’t get the chance to save it), mainly because Audacity has decided its New Year’s Resolution is to crash every seven minutes.
So…there’s a voice clip on my computer that’s going to become today’s creative effort …as soon as I convince Audacity to let me export the file as an MP3 and upload it here.
Thanks to Dustin Knie (my favorite Geek in Shining Armor), I can now share this with you. Sorry it’s not in a more convenient format. Hopefully, I’ll figure out how to correct that next time around. For now, this file is too big to upload.
