I took a liberty with this oneword prompt, but it’s another one of those that could actually appear in its setting.
For this one, I dropped into the realm of the Steampunk Leprechauns, a story that might come together some day…eventually… I hope.
Ara flipped through the key ring, flinching at the howling sound following each key’s movement. “You’re sure one of these fits this door?”
Bauble rocked back and forth on his heels. “Yes. I have on good authority from the blacksmith.”
Ara remembered the shriveled goblin whose hands shook as he worked at his anvil. “Right.”
The goblins are all slightly mad. That’s what happens when you live in sepia and mauve all the time! I’m assuming.
